This is how Relax Nails & Spa came to be — a licensed nail studio in 78705, steps from UT Austin, West Campus, Hyde Park and the North Loop — and why we've stayed deliberately small.
It started with a single chair and a teapot.
Before Relax Nails & Spa had a sign on Guadalupe, it was a single chair in the back of a friend's studio — two artists, a kettle, and a handful of UT students who kept coming back because the work was careful and the room was quiet.
In 2018 we signed a small lease two blocks from campus and opened with four chairs, hand-mixed gel colors, and a rule that every appointment would get its full hour, no rushing. People noticed. We grew slowly on purpose.
Today we're still small — a tight team of licensed nail artists who train together weekly, share custom palettes, and treat every set like a piece of work worth signing. We pour the same tea. We still take our hour.
